I've watched a couple (videos are too slow on my connection though)
particularly the HOT talk by Earl Schuyler and the Data Imports panel
discussion.

The Data Imports discussion is very interesting especially on my end
having imported several data in the past. The general agreement is
that data import is not always healthy to building a community and in
some cases, it can even kill community growth.

I have observed this in the Naga City import. We have added
tremendous amount of data but I didn't see any community growth on
that part of the country. Is it to a great extent due to the import
or simply because we don't have enough mappers interested in that
area?

Let's discuss this further especially now that OSM-PH is becoming very
visible in the last couple of months and there are possibilities that
some data providers (i. e. LGUs) may be willing to donate data.
