[talk-ph] I mapped my village

When I moved in here in March of 2013 the only map available was in Phase-Block-lot form and the Village was still under Ayala Land Corp. All except 40 of the over 1,000 lots have been sold. There are Street Name signs on nearly all the streets. So, I used an image of the village with unnamed streets and walked and wrote the Names. I used various methods to create these maps.
Now Ayala will turn-over the Village to the Home Owner's Association. I printed and laminated many of these maps and handed them out to Volunteers in each Phase of the Village. We have recently (last week) completed our Pre-Assessment of the Infrastructure Deliverables using these maps to identify the locations of Photographs taken for a Power-Point presentation that will be made during a meeting next week with Ayala and our HOA as we prepare to receive the ownership of our village from Ayala.
These maps are also helping our Security people locate homes for visitors/deliveries/emergency situations.
I still do not understand OSM mapping process, however, I bring my Garmin Nuvi GPS with me everywhere and, upon arriving at a destination, I record it as a Favorite. Now, when I want to return, I can follow the GPS, although I've learned it tends to lead me through some pathways that may be impassable and I must backtrack. Yet my GPS always says "Recalculating" and I eventually get to my destination.
After viewing Kate Chapman's talk on YouTube I am inspired to have a larger role in "OSMing" here in Southern Laguna.

Hi guys,

You might be interested in the following video showing Kate Chapman talking
about OpenStreetMap as a tool for disaster preparedness and its role during
the January 2013 Jakarta floods.

Kate Chapman is one of the founders of the Humanitarian OpenStreetMap Team
(HOT), which was formed as a result of the 2010 Haiti earthquake. She has
recently (as in just yesterday) been elected to the Board of the
OpenStreetMap Foundation, and thus becoming the first female Board member.

Hi guys,

I have updated the OSMPH Imagery Coverage Map to include all of the latest
Bing imagery that I could find: http://osmph.github.io/Imagery_Coverage_Map/

Please do check if I missed any spot.

Based on the following image published by Bing, there seems to be new
imagery in western and southern Mindanao, but I could not find them:
