Good catch! You can try the DG layer still being served by Mapbox, though
there's no guarantee how long they'll continue doing that. In iD, click on
the Background settings then select custom layer and add this endpoint:
https://{switch:a,b,c,d}.
tiles.mapbox.com/v4/digitalglobe.0a8e44ba/{zoom}/{x}/{y}.png?access_token=pk.eyJ1IjoiZGlnaXRhbGdsb2JlIiwiYSI6ImNqZGFrZ3pjczNpaHYycXFyMGo0djY3N2IifQ.90uebT4-ow1uqZKTUrf6RQ
<http://tiles.mapbox.com/v4/digitalglobe.0a8e44ba/%7Bzoom%7D/%7Bx%7D/%7By%7D.png?access_token=pk.eyJ1IjoiZGlnaXRhbGdsb2JlIiwiYSI6ImNqZGFrZ3pjczNpaHYycXFyMGo0djY3N2IifQ.90uebT4-ow1uqZKTUrf6RQ>

DG does show those areas you mentioned, which isn't shown on Maxar!
