[talk-pr] OSM Puerto Rico

Hey All,

Thanks to everyone who has joined this mailing list.  I hope it will be a
useful place to talk about OSM in Puerto Rico and coordinate with other
people interested in mapping.

First off, I apologize for setting all this up in English - my Spanish
isn't great but I can get by, so please feel free to communicate in Spanish
here.

A little about me - my name is Jeff and I've just moved to San Juan.  My
background is GIS and I've done lots of work in the past on OpenStreetMap.
 I have a lot of interest in the project and am always interested in
supporting it how I can and doing a little mapping.  Right now I'm
interested in improving the map in Viejo San Juan and Condado, and also
interested in getting to know other OSM contributors around here.

If you are interested in mapping in San Juan or have any other ideas
related to OSM, I'd love to hear about it.  From looking at the map history
it seems that there are only a handful of active contributors around, which
means a lot of edits have been made but there is still plenty of stuff to
map.

One idea I have is to organize a *mapping party* in Viejo San Juan.  We
could do some mapping, drink some beer.  Would anybody be interested in
that?
