Hi Martin.

I see no problems in changing the tags. As for geometry changes I would
advise you to be very careful near the river mouths, as in some places the
aerial imagery is out of date.
I agree with the #Rivers_update-Portugal tagging.

I will be happy to help you with any questions on rivers in the Algarve
region.
On the East side coast we have a lot of lagoons and salt evaporation ponds,
in wetland areas, many of which are tricky to tag, as during salt
production there are reservoirs which are used just for water storage and
others as true evaporation ponds.
Also most of the streams and some rivers are seasonal across most of the
Algarve.
