[Talk-se] Rivers update

Hello everyone,
I posted this on Telegram, but I was told to also try here:

There is a project that aims at improving rivers around OSM like fixing
overlaps, duplications, mistagging and also upgrading the older
waterway=riverbank to newer and approved natural=water + water=river. I was
thinking of working on rivers in Sweden and wanted to know if there are any
possible issues.

So far user riiga was concerned about the tagging update as having no
advantage.

Though, the advantage is the possibility to tag rivers, streams, canals,..
independently, contrary to the previous standard of tagging them all as
riverbanks. Also having two tags for rivers has a negative effect in a
sense that users of OSM data have to maintain two systems in their code.
That is also why many communities recently decided to unify their river
tagging and update to water=river scheme.
