GeoCameroun
(www.geocameroun.cm) : THE free mapping portal product by citizens.

 
GeoCameroun, first free Spatial Data Infrastructure (SDI) of Cameroon was
inaugurated Wednesday, October 23. Supported by OpenStreetMap Cameroon Association, the project aims to bring together on a single
platform all geographic information of the country: historical maps, modern maps, city maps,
aerial photographs, administrative boundaries, POI ...Hosting and maintenance of the portal are provided by SOGEFI, geomatics company newly
installed in Cameroon.  The SDI consists
of various components including the main portal available
for free on the Internet: www.geocameroun.cm

GéoCameroun, première Infrastructure de
Données Géographiques (IDG) gratuites et Libres  du Cameroun a été inaugurée mercredi 23 octobre.   Porté par l’association OpenStreetMap
Cameroun, le projet vise à rassembler sur une unique plateforme l’ensemble des
informations géographiques géoréférencées du pays : cartes historiques, cartes
modernes, cartes de bases, plans de villes, photographies aériennes, limites
administratives, points d’intérêt…Issue d'un projet universitaire, son
hébergement et sa maintenance sont assurés par SOGEFI, Bureau d’Études Géomatiques
nouvellement installé au
Cameroun. 
 

L’IDG se compose de divers composants dont le
principal est un portail cartographique accessible gratuitement sur internet : www.geocameroun.cm
