Hi Everyone,
Following a successful Open Data Day in February,we'd like to see more
interesting things happening around open data. We have decided to do
this through local data days.
These will be monthly meet-ups to discuss Open data and how we can make
it useful. We want these meet-ups to be fun and interactive and have us
attain something tangible at the end of the day: it could be a new
skill-set, a little more knowledge about what’s happening in your
country(after hacking an open dataset of course), a new professional
connection, a technology project(application development aided by Open
Data) or just a valuable way to spend your Friday afternoon!
If you have interesting ideas to be presented during one of the monthly
events or something you’d like to see us talk about during these events,
drop us an e-mail at info at opendatadaykampala.org, we’ll be happy to add
you to the schedule.
Starting the 25th April 2014, we'll have the first of these data days
focusing on "Data Journalism".

NB: R has mapping libraries, it would be nice to see us extracting and
working with OSM data on different platforms: this could be a start!
regards,
