Very interesting and timely discussion, thank you.
Alas I can't attend the maptime Leaflet.js presentation tonight, because
(ironically) I'm attending the annual meeting of a trail maintenance group
with which Brian and I have been talking (on History of Science, but
Geodesy is related art to mapping and GPS-ing). [friendsofthefells.org

<https://www.facebook.com/FriendsoftheFells> , Malden Public Library
6:45pm] Our OSM map is more up-to-date for their trails than their or DCR's
official maps. Gently nudging there isn't my primary goal with them but not
neglected!
I will be looking at whether Leaflet would be a simpler/better alternative
to OpenLayers for layering data over OSM basemaps for my other projects
and possibly these trails also, thanks to whomever forwarded the maptime
invite first.
