https://overpass-turbo.eu/ is a good place to find examples of tags.
Zoom the map to an area of interest.
Click on the menu item *Wizard*
Enter "*bridge=boardwalk*" without the quotes
Click on "*build and run query*"
The locations will be displayed on the map with blue circles or lines.
Click on a blue circle and you'll get the tagging details and a link to the
way in osm.org

The query  *bridge=boardwalk in "middlesex,ma"* finds 100 examples.

*bridge=boardwalk and layer=1 in "middlesex,ma"* finds 64 examples

*bridge=boardwalk and highway=path and layer=1 in "middlesex,ma"* finds 62

changing the *=* to *!=*  (not equal) finds the ones that don't have a
specific tag.

*bridge=boardwalk and highway!=path and layer=1 in "middlesex,ma"* finds 2
