The hydro25karc file is my favorite layer for rivers because it has a 
name field. The main problem with it however is that the lines seem to 
be drawn, (in a recent area I checked), north to south rather than in 
the direction of actual flow. So it was a lot of extra work to check the 
topo map to find the proper flow direction.
