Could be the confusion brought on by the boundary=protected_area
juggernaut (that in my experience does not care about the nuances we are
discussing and only focuses on their inscrutable IUCN numeric protect
codes -- but with any luck I'm wrong).

boundary=protected_area is not a landuse tag.  leisure=nature_reserve
and landuse=conservation are.  The render is heavy on
boundary=protected_area becuase those people said it was the new thing
that superceded most everything else -- which was of course wrong.
