While little of that is recognizable to me, are facilities still using .GDB
files?  Like what old GPS units stored track data in?  Those were a much more
space-efficient binary means than, say .gpx, and even more so when compressed.
These days when I archive a collection of .gpx tracks from my hikes and
trips, I usually gpsbabel convert them to old-skool type 1 .gdb *and* gzip
them, and they take a fraction of the original size.

Meta-comment 2:
The last three list messages showed up classified as spam by ionos/1and1 where
techno-fandom goes.  No idea why.  So it's ironic that Ionos' own outbound
*relays* also got blacklisted at Spamhaus. causing *my* mail to get either
misclassified or bounced.
