Has anyone had considered a Planet.osm --> Geodatabase conversion that works the same as the osm2pgsql?

The geodatabase standard is not published, but there is an XML transfer standard.

The advantage of having this available is that there is a large community of map enthusiasts that are professionally committed to ArcGIS through their employment.  Exposing them to OSM on their own terms will help expand our contributor base in the US.
