[Talk-us] Poor JOSM Yahoo imagery solution?

Is anyone working on a solution to the poor Yahoo image quality in JOSM
(compared with Potlatch, browser, etc.)? This pic shows the striking diff
between the same area at the same scale in JOSM and in Potlatch:

Unfortunately, the particular area I'm working on does not have
Terraserver/USGS urban imagery available.

Is there a way to build an "offline" tile library from the yahoo (and USGS)
imagery and have it used as a layer in JOSM (without having to manually
georeference each tile)? Resolution aside, since the imagery almost never
changes (especially USGS), it seems more reasonable to have a local map of
the areas I work on - just a few hundred square miles - than having to wait
for many small tiles to load from servers every time I scroll around, not
to mention the stall/re-load cycle I have to go through all the time.
