It seems to me that there is at least one person here who had decided
that his sole purpose is to stir shit up. Reference the recent
"Tagging bicycle anti-routes" discussion and this thread. Let's all
just pick some random area, find a website that says something
opposite of the map, then update it, without any person knowledge of
Seriously, all this bickering of people who are tagging things where
they have no personal knowledge is driving me away from the project.
I'm trying to make my neighborhood as accurate as possible, and I'm
getting frustrated with discussions about "Why did this happen? I live
here and it's wrong." "Because some random website says it does."
"Website is wrong." "Impossible. It's on the Internet with someone's
copyright, so it has to be right."
On a side note, I noticed that Google allows people to make changes to
their maps. I wonder who the average person will be drawn to: A
project that is cleanly organized and has verification of edits, or a
project where people just tag the shit out of roads because they think
they know better and get huge threads about how the way that I'm doing
it is best instead of being able to verify roads? Since we're all
volunteers, we need to be able to work nicely with each other and stop
running with scissors, and stop eating the paste.
As far as Creek Turnpike and US 169, pics or it doesn't exist.
