There are some in SVN, under misc/lectures, and also some on the 
Geofabrik web site at 
http://www.geofabrik.de/geofabrik/publications.html (some German, some 
English, mostly PDFs but you can have the .odp on request).

It certainly is, I find myself plucking bits from my own script all the 
time.
