Hi All,
We had a has-explosion fire in San Bruno (which is between San Francisco and
San Jose) that has already killed 10 people.
We have had an urgent request for on-the-ground mapping assistance, but am
trying to get the word out through all channels, since it is Friday and
people are likely in bed.
Need your help to get the world out to the local volunteer mapping community
for field assistance TOMORROW (Saturday):
URGENT:
Posse of 1 to 3 expert volunteer mappers are needed tomorrow morning
(SATURDAY September 11, 2010) to work with San Bruno emergency response
officials to map the recent fire area.
Volunteers must be proficient in mapping (experience with Google Map, KML
Files) and be able to bring a laptop, cell phone, and be comfortable working
in field conditions.
To volunteer, or request additional details please contact
<jeannie.stamberger at sv.cmu.edu>jeannie.stamberger at sv.cmu.edu ASAP.
Best,
Jeannie
Just to get it out to more people, I made an 'eventbrite' invitation of it,
so I could access all the emails of people attending crisiscamps:

I would appreciate anything that you guys can do to get the word out to the
expert volunteer mapping community.
Cheers,
Jeannie
