Great, thanks for sharing these! It's exciting to see this kind of
work being done. I'm on a quest to get my county involved in OSM, and
it will be great to learn from your experiences.

Have you investigated the RoadMatcher plugin for conflating the road
and trail data? It would be great if there was sufficient interest
from programmers or funding to create a conflation plugin for JOSM.
I'm working on the simple case of conflating attributes between
objects, but one for streets and trails would be a great boon to your
project and many others.
