   Hi Jeff,  It's good to see the type of concrete plans that are coming 
to life on the import planning page.

   The 'hazing' you received is just a result of too many people sending 
an announcement email saying that they are thinking about an import. 
The next thing the OSM community sees is a multi-GB converted shapefile 
being uploaded.

   Take plenty of time with the planning phase - there are some tools 
that can be tuned up to help optimize the process that will help in your 
area and elsewhere.
