I've seen a lot of the ones that Ian points out.  These seem to fit any 
definition of mini-roundabout based on size.  In contrast to the European use 
of these as alternatives to stops/yields, it seems that these are put in as 
traffic calming features.  I don't prefer tag proliferation, but the difference 
between mountability of the two types could be noted either with a different 
tag traffic_calming=mini_roundabout or an addition to the 
highway=mini_roundabout tag with traffic_calming=yes.
