Hey Kate -

Good question. Given the fact that we're shooting for an early SOTM next year, we're really strapped of time for a formal bid process. I know this is not ideal but I think the ability to move SOTM-US to a better date in regards to the international conference is worth it. If you were plannning on bidding or if you know of anyone bidding I would suggest to make it known here or just get in touch with bonnie at mapbox.com. We should absolutely open a formal bidding process at the SOTM-US 2013 conference for 2014.
