While the parks in the District of Columbia are administered by the
National Park Service, the Service also manages National Monuments and
other features which are not considered National Parks.
None of the parks in DC are on the list of 63 "National Parks" in wikipedia:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_national_parks_of_the_United_States
The Nation Park Service mentioned that they administer 432 sites,
including all sorts of different kinds of protection and names: National
Battlefield Parks, National Historical Parks, National Memorials, National
Recreation Areas, as well as the big National Monuments and National Parks:
https://www.nationalparks.org/connect/blog/how-many-national-parks-are-there
The DC urban parks are in the "Other" category:
*"Other Designations (11):Though it may seem like the designations listed
above cover every site, there are special sites within the National Park
System that are designated otherwise. Places like Wolf Trap National Park
for the Performing Arts, the parks along our National Mall and Memorial
Parks, and even the White House fall into this “other designations”
category."*
