Hi Brian,
Sorry for the late reply! I read your message but hadn't yet had time to
write back.
 I think addresses still have a worthwhile point on the map because they
improve the navigation beyond the address interpolation which is a useful
part of the site. They also identify the precise addresses of important
buildings such as shops, which makes it easier to go somewhere seen first
on the map. In addition neighboring imports in Wayne, NJ and New York City
have used them, so it would allow for some consistency with them (though,
important to note, some imports like Newark haven't included addresses).
It's also my impression that they have little burden on the actual
database, though I understand they can make the OSM standard map busy in
places.
 In general I think it's worthwhile splitting the two imports into separate
processes, however, and I want to import the buildings first. If all is
well I can document the building import on the wiki tomorrow, and we can
reconsider addresses at some future time. I'll make sure to reach out to
you again when the time comes.
