As Subject. [1] The route is fully designated, but "not yet fully entered." This is several in-some-cases-statewide segments of East Coast Greenway or United States Bicycle Routes in Virginia, Maryland, Delaware, New Jersey, New York and the District of Columbia including many segments in Pennsylvania which are not yet entered as bicycle infrastructure or members of any route=bicycle relation. 9/11 Trail (as a route=bicycle relation) remains incomplete in OSM, mostly in Pennsylvania. This is the "mixed" relation I posted here about last week. What it seems will make sense is when the route is deemed fully entered, all "naked" ways in the route will be gathered into their own route relation and this will be included in the (now existing super-) relation. I'd estimate the route to be approximately 55% complete.
Contributions, especially by those-more-local to the route (in Pennsylvania) are quite welcome. Contact me via email and I can send you a GPX file of the route (which is in the public domain, as it is legislatively-defined by the US Congress). Or, you can go to the official website [2] and find the link to the ArcGIS map [3]. Though, I find it easiest (using JOSM) to load the GPX file and enter route elements "on top of that."
At completion, we can clone the route and change the route=bicycle tag to be route=foot (and network=lcn to network=nwn) to represent it is also a national walking/hiking trail. Regarding equestrian, I'm not sure.
Thanks in advance to any additional contributions to get this to 100% completion,
SteveA
