That particular example on that screenshot is particularly bad, since the
undivided part of that route is secondary. It would probably look a bit
better if you changed the secondary segments to primary. After all, if it's
a "major state highway" as you say it is, it should definitely be tagged as
primary. A minor, less important state highway can be secondary but this
seems like it ought to be at least primary given that there's some sections
that are expressway.
