In Houston we say "I-10", "US 290" (or sometimes just "290"), etc but
"the Katy Freeway", "the Northwest Freeway", etc. Saying "the 10" is the
fastest way to rat yourself out as fresh off the plane from California
or at the very least, an obvious non-Houstonian.
