I know the number of communication channels is frustrating. I feel the
same. For better or worse Slack is where a large portion of US mappers
stay in touch these days. Lots of good discussion and community building
going on there. All are welcome! Also, for the record, the OSM US slack
is not hidden, it's first in the list in the OSM Community Index for the
US: https://openstreetmap.community/?map=39.29265,-93.81878&zoom=3.40

I'm sure no one would complain if you set up such a bridge. A few others
might also want to use it.
