[Talk-us] Great Lakes Circle Tour routes (for cars AND bicycles)

If anybody knows of specific routes for GLCTs (especially the automobile / route=road routings for Lake Michigan Circle Tour and Lake Huron Circle Tour), please see our wiki [1] on the subject. These are about 65% complete in OSM, and it would be great if we could get those final two routes into our map and be 100% complete for the whole network of all five routes for all five Great Lakes.

AND, if you know of ANYTHING about these routes as they pertain to BICYCLES, please chime into that wiki's Discussion page [2] , as it looks like OSM may soon / eventually redact the LMCT bicycle relations (there is also an LMCT-Alt). Reason being that this/these don't/doesn't quite "meet the bar" of what we say in [3] we "DO map" vs. what we "Do NOT map" as route=bicycle relations. Yes, OSM would be discarding hundreds of miles of bicycle-specific infrastructure assembled as a (nice, roundtrip=yes) route, but there IS a ridewithgps.com version of these route data freely available on the Internet (which our wiki links). And if it isn't signed, assigned by a state DOT, county roads department or even a group of Chambers of Commerce for the marketing / bicycle-tourism aspects, it doesn't quite hit the mark for "DO map." I'm sure it is a "nice ride," though (and that means "we don't map these in OSM").

Thanks,
stevea, bicycle route guy
