I'm having trouble parsing that level of corporate speak. I think it's
not actually saying all stores are closing, but saying that nothing is
changing with the franchise ones, but first party ones are changing?

Either way, I believe accurate Wikidata links helps us. In GB we have a
QA tool that uses hand written Overpass queries to identify
closed/renamed chains [1]. Having more accurate and more coverage with
brand:wikidata makes that easier and will ultimately lead to someone
making a universal QA tool without any handwritten queries, but
relaying on Wikidata's dissolved status [2].

Could I help encourage this by also adding the stores website when
doing this edit? Then when that link 404s it's another QA hint to local
mappers that that store may have closed.

But of cause, I'll hold off until I get the OK, so someone in the US
does it.
