I am planning on doing it this Sunday when the roads are a little quieter,
Do you have any tips / tricks that I should keep in mind?

Hi Kenny,
Hope you managed to map Vereeniging over the weekend.
If not, Potlatch (online editor) is very easy. I did my first edits over the
weekend (Irene and Sunninghill). It also has a very good online help which
gives you all the basics (Keep it open in a separate tab or window to start
with).
I started by editing the maps in my area without uploading. That way you can
see how the "ways" should be done. Potlatch offers "Play" mode after you
login to edit which does not actually do the changes on the database,
therefore you can't do damage :-)
gpx upload is also self-explanatory and easy. Your attached gpx I was able
to
import so seems OK!
Have fun!!
John
