[Openstreetmap] NavSys MapEditor - just what we need?

While looking at the standalone gpsd source, I came across
<URL:http://www.navsys.org/mapeditor/>, a map editor taking GPS tracks
as input, and allowing the user to edit and annotate the tracks to
create a vector-based roadmap.

This sounds very much like the stuff we are doing.  Did anyone test
this package yet?  I'll download it and have a look now.
