[Openstreetmap] Linux dictaphone?

I managed to get my hands on a Bluetooth handfree set, and a Bluetooth
USB interface.  I plan to combine them together to make a dictaphone
and use it to record info on the locations.  But I have no idea what
kind of software and drivers are needed to get this to work.  I heared
some rumors about a format standard for dictaphone recordings.  Anyone
know more?

Anyone konw how to use a handfree set as the microphone and 'record'
button for a dictaphone on linux?
