Yeah.  But no use changing it before I know what the correct code

You were very generic in the bug report.  Are you aware of other
fragments of code using the username, in addition to the web page, the
java applet and the osm-editor?

I'm still testing with the free javas, yes.  But I'm also testing with
SUN jdk.  I'n not sure which one of these popped up in my browser with
the applet, though. :)
