you need the track in RINEX format, which means having access to the 
L1 and L2 pseudorange and ephemerides. some units will let you store 
these values, but from my unit they are 4 * long double = 64 bytes + 
timestamp and other data, so it gets very big very quickly!

there is a free toolkit: http://gpstk.sf.net which will do the RINEX 
format postprocessing.

my experience was: i tried writing a filter for RINEX for my SiRF 
unit, but didn't understand enough of the terminology and/or maths to 
get something actually working.
