Any are basically, the makefile will always have to be modified to suit a 
particular user's system.

I feel they serve slightly different user bases. The Java one is more 
designed, I feel, for actually editing OpenStreetMap data and upload of GPX 
to OpenStreetMap, while the C++ one is designed to be a more lightweight 
GPX-focused editor, not necessarily including upload to OpenStreetMap. I'm 
certainly keen for the C++ one to continue for GPX editing/Landsat analysis. 
What do people think?
