Great to see updates.  The new layout looks good. :)

But please do not make JavaScript required to see the map.  I always
keep JavaScript turned off in my normal browser, and would like to
still be able to see the map.  At the moment, I just get an empty area
where the map should show up.  It might make people wonder if the page
is broken.

The edit tab should have some alternative text to be displayed when
Java is unavailable.  Place some text between <applet> and </applet>,
for example "The browser need to support Java to be able to edit
maps.".
