I am proud to announce, that a beta version of my software JOSM is

To get it: http://www.eigenheimstrasse.de/josm/josm-beta.jar
To run it: double click (Windows) or "java -jar josm-beta.jar" (Linux)
Additional: Java5. Get it from http://java.com/en/download/index.jsp
Sources: http://www.eigenheimstrasse.de/josm/josm-beta-src.jar

JOSM stands for Java OpenStreetMap Editor and is a standalone editor for
OSM data written in Java. The current beta can only open/save GPX files
and only from local disk (no fancy auto-import-REST-thingie available

To actually see something in the Programm, you have to load an GPX file.
If you don't have one, grab it from OSM using the url
As example to see a bit of London, use
and store this to a local .gpx or .xml file

If you are still not able to grab some GPX stuff and just want to test
it out, download http://www.eigenheimstrasse.de/svn/josm/data/london.gpx
and load this. It contains the probably most visited OSM-map ;-)
