[Openstreetmap] So, er, what now?

So. I've linked Norwich to London:

http://www.openstreetmap.org/edit/view-map.html?lat=52.20&lon=1.0&scale=0.0035

and now I find myself wondering "What now?". Are there any apps out
there that can make use of the OSM data? Is anyone working on linking
GPSDrive or RoadMap to it? Is it possible to get a dump of the whole of
the UK, to use with an in car PC for example?

I've been trying to convince various people I know to get involved with
OSM (including one who works with GPS tracking of trucks), but I'm not
quite sure what I can show them as benefits other than the maps on the
website?
