At SVGOpen, there was an interesting presentation 
http://www.svgopen.org/2005/paperAbstracts/firemark.html  which showed a way 
of watermarking vectors paths in SVG, I'd imagine the technique would also 
work for street vectors too.  Has there been any of this sort of thing in 
OSM?
