hello openstreetmap list,

so far things are going well at Wsfii. later on in the week there will
be some Open Geodata workshops.

and the wiki page which needs filling in

i've been inflicting this local captive portal on people using the
wifidog client software against my own portal application. i have nice
plans for it down to floor plan level, georeferenced if possible.
it tells you what is going on in the space around each node.

The Thursday workshops are going to be about annotating the
environment; a session on local information and presence services.
I might change the 'building the geowiki' session into something more
wireless-oriented.

The Friday afternoon workshop is going to be on working with the
OpenStreetmap interface; partly an effort to build client libraries
and partly to build WFS or RDF interfaces beside or on top of the
RESTful one. Steve is helping coordinate this session. The morning
discussion is about what are the basic constituents of a
"Peoples' Spatial Data Infrastructure". This might extend into a
licensing discussion i hope not.

Chris Holmes of the geoserver project is here with us; i think Richard
geowiki and Nick free-map are both going to come down on Friday, also
Francois Proulx who did some nice google maps API work with wifidog.
I had hoped to gether more of the euro developers but people seem not
to be able to make it either at all or before the weekend. If someone
reading this *really* wants to attend and can't afford to, it may still
be possible to offer some travel support, please ping me about it.

I think we will have a pretty good quorum, though; the emphasis is on
hacking and on absolute pragmatism.
