Yes, but SUNs Java VM is not. It has a clause prohibiting
distribution if you also distribute another implementation of Java.
So if you distribute kaffe or gcj, you can not distribute SUN Java.
Its license is the reason SUN Java isn't in Debian and RedHat, for
example.
And I would find it very convenient if the Java client worked out of
the box with one of the Java implementations in Debian. :) More info
