Having a routing solution in my Mind I do agree.

Having a routing solution in my Mind It would take some effort to sort this
out and to get it usable.
This is one of the reasons I'm doing all these statistic stuff on the
planet.osm.gz.
Even for reducing the amount of data for gpsdrive in different display scales
it would be handy to have continuous ways.
