In an ideal world, yes, in practice, things happen like GPS batteries die
half way along a route, and you don't pick up until later, leading to gaps,
or you just forget to switch the GPS on, or the tracklog memory fills up.

The channel tunnel rail link is there, as is the railway line right through
to Brussels, but the tunnel itself has no GPS coverage! Yes. It should be
there as a rail tunnel, and I'm fairly sure that the approximate course of
the tunnel is public knowledge. Failing that, anyone care to take a 3D
accelerometer through there?

Car ferry routes, likewise, should probably be there. Easy to map, just
bring the GPS up on deck.

Dover was looking a little scarce last time I looked.
