In case anyone else is envisaging similar problems, the "central meeting 
point" of the weekend is likely to be Brockenhurst which has a train 
station. Modern trains don't provide as much bike space as the previous 
generation of trains, so if arriving by train it might be best to show up 
for the previous one to be sure of getting your bike on.
