Interesting idea, particularly for recommended paths, but the risk of such 
a rating system is it might cause a vicious circle of neglect. However if 
it was rated as "needs attention" it might encourage those with the 
responsibility of maintaining paths to do something about it. Maybe a 
"gold/green/red" system, where gold=particularly recommended (views etc), 
green="clear", red="needs attention now!" ?
