Hello Steve,
In SVN (tile.openstreetmap.org/ruby) the changed files are:
renderer.rb
rules.rb
new.xml
These can just be copied over to the live server and replaced.
Examples of output:
http://nick.dev.openstreetmap.org/renderer_sa.png - rural area (Fernhurst)
http://nick.dev.openstreetmap.org/renderer_sa2.png - Southampton
http://nick.dev.openstreetmap.org/renderer_sa3.png - Weybridge
It favours Map Features though some "class" attributes are still recognised.
And hopefully no more acid-trip yellow-green stuff.... un-wayed segments are
just rendered in neutral white/black casing.
