In the same area, the area of rural Cheshire surrounding Chester is one of the 
most impressive pieces of rural OSM mapping I have seen, with large numbers 
of country lanes and villages present. It shows up well on Freemap (might not 
work on IE at the moment - apologies; nick.dev.openstreetmap.org/openlayers) 
- try entering "Tarvin" as the search.
