I've found several cases where the map data used by Google Maps (which
in the UK is mostly supplied from Tele Atlas) is itself suspect, with
streets running at incorrect angles, copyright easter eggs, and the like.

It's relatively easy to pick this up, as Google Earth uses the same
street data as Google Maps, and in some areas, Google Earth has
excellent imagery (better than Google Maps in most cases), and good (or
getting better) rectification.
