The smaller size is by purpose. I removed the last bit of the old GPX
parsing stuff which required the now removed JDOM-library. ;-)

With the current Server API implementation, I can hardly provide a better
progress-bar implementation. (But this is a typical problem for frontends
to big databases.)

Hm.. on the same day? Did you download osm data or trackpoints (raw gps
data)? In fact, I changed something in the raw gps parser (I changed the
parser ;). Maybe I messed something up.. :-?. It works for me here.
